POTTY TRAINING!!!

OK So I need some help with potty training! I am starting to potty train Corban and I need some advice on where to start and what to do! Especially those of you with boys! How did you do it? So lets say I start tomorrow what do I do?...Do I just start out the day by putting underwear on him or do I put pull ups on him? Which work best? I really need to get him trained before the baby comes or I will be sorry! He turns 3 in July so I think now is a perfect time anyway! I can use all the advice I can get so please let me know what works, what doesn't work, and all the things I need to do to get this ball rolling! Thanks in advance for the advice!

Honestly i wouldnt waste your tim and money on pull ups they are just like a diaper and they really dont care if they mess in them. I put Payten in panties and then if you want you can put that plastic underware over it until they get the hang of it.That way they can feel when they do have an accident. And then starting that morning i set a timer for every 30 minutes, and when the timer went off she knew it was potty time. It stinks for the first day cause you are taking them every 30 minutes but thats what i did and she was seriously potty trained that day! Its hit or miss though sometimes, like i tried three other times to train her and she wasnt ready but when i did it the last time she was finally ready to do it. You can also set a jar of his favorite candy next to the potty and when he goes he gets to pick one out. Just make a big deal about it and show him that its a good thing! Good luck!

What the???!!! I am so excited that you are pregnant? How fun! I hope you get a girl, although another boy would be buddies with Corban. Oh, so fun. Hope you keep feeling well!

Okay, Heather, I've got lots of potty training advice, but half way through it was already getting SUPER long so I'm going to e-mail it to you to save some space for others. As much as I'd love to hog the whole page, I think I'll be nice and pass. :0)

Well, it takes time first of all! I started potty training Kylee back in October and she is just now wearing underwear and not messing in them anymore. I thought she was ready and she did GREAT at first, but then she decided she didn't want to go on the toilet anymore and went back to going in her pull-ups. Yes.....I used pull-ups but diapers work just the same. I have plenty left over if you want to use them!!! I'm sure Corbin wouldn't mind wearing princesses on his pull-ups right?!! Ha ha! Anyway, just keep at it is my main advice because I wanted to quit so many times after she took steps backwards in the whole process. But I kept with it and she one day decided that she was going to go on the toilet. After Christmas I put her in underwear and she was hooked! She loved her underwear and wanted to keep it dry. So maybe try underwear after a week's worth of getting him used to going on the toilet. It's different for each child. Just be patient!!!!

Hey Heather! So no advice on potty training...you'll have to give me some after you figure it out! :) Anyway, we know Spencer and Marlee cuz Marlee is Garrick's cousin, such a small world! Do you remember Allison or Amanda Haymore from EA? She's their little sister.

I forgot to call ya! (Surprise, surprise) But I talked to my mom and she said when it comes to potty training, all of her kids just eventually learned on their own. Just whenever you go to the bathroom, bring him with you, and have him pee with daddy all the time and he'll catch on. Maybe you can make him a sticker chart too and every time he does potty like a big boy, he gets to put a sticker on a piece of paper. Kids like that sort of thing, don't they? haha Man I'm scared to go through this. :-)
